Gringos take on Imbituba - week 19

Image
oi oi! s o whoever thought putting 2 gringos together in Brazil was a genius! i have seen more success in just this first week than i have seen in my entire mission thus far.  we put 3 people on dates for baptism and we're gonna have a wedding on the beach!! the wedding won't be until November, but i'm already sooo excited! i have also learned that we attract the craziest people... but crazy people need to hear the gospel too!   my new area of Imbituba is interesting! there aren't a ton of people here and it's just a branch, not a ward.  we are about an hour away from our district which is kind of a bummer because we don't get to go to district meetings every week.  so it really is just sis gruwell and i out here on our own.  it's a good thing we like each other! our branch is super awesome tho.  there aren't many members here, so everyone is really close.  i have also learned that because the branch is so small, people end up marrying their cousin

oi oi! this week was kind of the worst but the best also. i got super sick one day after lunch with a member and ended up in the hospital lol. but no need to fear trish, the doctor spoke english to me :) then they stuck a little needle in my arm and put some weird fluids in my body and now were all good in the hood. on friday i received a call from presidente saying that all sisters were being transferred and he was putting elders in our areas. so now here i am coming at you live from a little place on the coast called Imbituba! with an American comp hahah. what the what!! we´ll see how this goes!  but i am finally warm in Brazil!! but the main reason this week was the worst is because of the goodbyesssss. oh my goodness people! i've had to say goodbye to way too many people in the last 4 months. it's honestly more than my heart can handle. feeling very sad to have said goodbye to my girls i've lived with for 3 months and my first ward, but also very grateful to hav
