oi oi!  soooo  tuesday  i was the one that woke up sick! plot twist. i decided ya know maybe i just need a nice warm shower. so im showering and i hear a little explosion and then see some fire. the photo below is the aftermath, not really sure what happened there. my roomates have fleas currently and they thought it would be funny to lay in my bed so i could share the experience w them... i didnt think that was very funny as you can probably imagine but i think killing someone is frowned upon when youre a missionary. joking kind of :) the next day we stayed in again cause me and my comp were both sick and we had to wait around for a guy to fix our shower and another guy to spray the fleas away (just in time thank goodness). i finished the entire BOM in all the days we have spent in our apartment if that tells you anything. but it did put into perspective that that would not have happened if i had my phone here. it made me realize how much time we waste checking social media, tex

this week started off more successful than it ended. We´ve been teaching one of our recent converts and his wife lately and its been really fun cause he loves all of the sisters here so we got permission to teach his lessons w the other sisters that i live with! its a good time really. weve been trying really hard for a long time to get his wife to come to church and she hasnt budged but this week was different! they invited us over for lunch one day and we got to meet their daughter and she happened to be studying english and even better her parents wanted me to speak english with her! i was thrilled as you can imagine, but heres the cool part. after our convo went on for awhile i decided to ask her if she would come to church and she quickly responded "yes!" then i very subtly threw in a "and you can bring your mom too" and her mom said "ill go if you go!" hahah can you believe it?? this was a big moment for me cause its the first time ive truly experie

oi oi! not too much for this week... just a whole lotta walking and studying portuguese! sometimes when i miss english a lot and i dont wanna read more scriptures i read the instructions to my alarm clock.. strange right? count your blessings :) we did have zone conference this week and it was super fun! i got to meet a couple elders from utah also so that was cool. my mish pres is actually so crazy/funny. great guy. love him! im getting close with all the members in my ward now which has made all the difference. my bishop wants me to teach english to the ward members and im stoked cause i just happen to be fluent in that language! lol. but anyways happy late 4th of july americans! i got to celebrate from my apartment cause my comp was ill again, nonetheless i did dress for the occasion! i hit my 2 month mark this week... not that anyone is counting, i know trish isnt ;) thanks for all the sweet emails, love and support! i can really feel your prayers!  spiritual thought from your

Just kidding:) So I don't know if any of you are watching the World Cup, but I sure am!!  I'm convinced Brazil has different missionaries rules than the rest of the world hahaha.  This week I experienced my first Lages rainstorm and it was nuts!  You could seriously ring out my hair, dress, shoes, everything.  But perk of the rainstorm, President Goncalves got us a drying machine so bless up!  I also had some awkward experiences this week.  One being my Brazilian roommates told me to say "Eu estou gravida" when the members tell you to eat more food.  It turns out that really means "I am pregnant". I'm glad I could provide some entertainment for them.  This week wasn't super successful, and sometimes discouraging, but it's crazy because everytime I feel like I'm about to break down, something good happens and I forget what I was sad about.  God works in funny ways like that.  One of our investigators (Fatima my fav) started reading the B
