NUMB - Lages week 7

oi oi gente! its been a minute since i last emailled and so much has happened since then so this might be a bit long today.. sry in advance. first off saying bye to my mtc fam was reallllly hard. im going to miss them lots. the morning after sis carter and i got on a plane around 4 am where we landed on the beautiful island of floripa! then we met our mission pres and his wife (gr8 ppl), a couple american elders (thank goodness bc translators) and sis smith (my doubskis partner in high school)!! it was sooo nice to see a familiar face. we had a brief lunch w them before they shipped me off to the coldest area here! like its NUMB. trish would not do well here. it was a 5 hr bus ride to get here and you could just see the windows freezing the further we got. twas a cold bus ride one would say. i was with sis aguiar (a brazilian i met in the ctm) but it wasnt super great cause we both speak about the same amount of each others languages so it was a pretty quiet ride. the first thing that

Finally in Florianopolis - CTM week 6

No email from Emma this week because she has arrived in Florianopolis!  She loved her time in the CTM and her district.  It was very hard to say goodbye to friends she had made there, but she was excited to get out in the field.  She will email next Monday.  I did get these pics from her sweet mission president's wife, Sister Goncalves.  She is happy and doing well!

Hello and goodbye:( - CTM week 5

Hello!  Turns out my pday is switching to Wednesdays now, at least for the next 2 weeks.  Everybody's schedule changed because we're getting like 200 new missionaries in the next week or so.  It also means we now get to go to the Campinas temple, as well as the Sao Paulo temple! Pretty sweet! Sundays are by far my favorite day.  This week we had 3 hours of free time after church where me and my roommates just slept the whole time.  And most of you know that it is impossible for me to take naps so that was a tender mercy fo sho.  I'm getting real sick of this whole saying goodbye thing.  Part of me feels like I'm saying goodbye to the fam over and over again.  It's rough, but such is life here at the CTM.  This week I said goodbye to my sweet divisions companion Sister Moura (that's so Raven). Jesus take the wheel - CTM week 4

oiiii!  more than halfway done at the ctm.. so weird time is flying! scares me to death tho thinking that ill be in the REAL world attempting to speak portuguese to REAL investigators. jesus please take the wheel.  i dont have much time today but just wanted to say thanks to all the sweet emails ive received.  i am overwhelmed w the love and support im getting from my favs in utah. please be patient with my response time! so a few things for this week...i mentioned last week that we had the late night snack every night and i didnt get a chance to send a pic, but yeah just forget i ever said anything cause we've reached the end of the lunche era, muito triste:(   this past week we went proseltying as well as did splits with the brazillians again. proselyting was super scary but my comp and i talked to 4 people which was a sucess in our eyes. i had the best comp this week for splits. she was so funny. she reenacted "thats so raven" all the time and i just about peed my
