grow through what you go through - Imbituba week 25

this week was...interesting! we've been teaching this insane guy for some time now and it's funny because for some reason he really hates sis gruwell and basically just roasts her the whole time were there.  but on our last visit, he started saying a prayer with his eyes wide open just staring at sis gruwell, then started bawling saying he was going into a place he had never been before.  sis gruwell said "yes prayer is a powerful thing" and then a mattress fell and hit her in the head! haha  it was pretty funny! this week I have been asked if i'm columbian, mexican, indian, and have been told i have a "cara de desconfiada".  which basically means i look shady so that's promising. we also received our newbie this week so naturally we had to pull a prank on her.  we took her to our "investigator's" house (which was actually Bruno our branch president), and made her teach the whole lesson while Bruno was saying he didn't want to be baptized anymore because he's into "macumba" (black magic).  haha, poor girl!  just wanted to have a little fun but she was a bit salty after that:(
jokes aside, i feel like growing up in Utah and being raised in the church, i always took the gospel for granted.  but for reals we are SOOO blessed! the mission is hard without a doubt.  abbey sent me a quote that i love.  it says "grow through what you go through". i'm grateful for the experiences i'm having, the good ones and the hard ones.  and i'm so grateful for this opportunity i have to serve a mission and share the gospel in Brazil.  God is good! read your scriptures kids.

i love you a brazilian!
tchau! sista kener
